All neighborhoods within Encinitas enjoy great school and library options; public transportation services (bus, and trolley); a variety of places of worship; proximity to major medical facilities; sufficient local shopping, restaurants, and entertainment while being within an easy radius to major shopping centers. Locals enjoy the April Street fair, the Fall Festival, Oktoberfest, Classic Car Cruise Nights, and of course the Cardiff Kook. The Magic Carpet Ride, or more affectionately known by Encinitas locals as the Cardiff Kook, is a 16 ft bronze statue located in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, in the city of Encinitas. At various times during the year, the Kook is “vandalized” and dressed up (wearing a lucha libre mask, being eaten by a paper-mache shark, wearing a full Uncle Sam costume for Independence Day, used by local high school students to ask each other to school dances) bringing local flair and tourists constantly to the statue.
In addition, 92007 and 92024 homes have fine community parks and recreational fields throughout and is surrounded by natural beauty and scenic views, walking and riding trails, fishing and picnicking, some competitive rock climbing and serious hiking.
